Am I eligible to carry a concealed weapon or handgun?
When checking eligibility requirements for carrying a gun, you will need to gain information from your local sheriff's office. Here is a copy of the State of Michigan Concealed Pistol License Application.

What is involved in gun training for my CCW/CPL Certification?
The State of Michigan requires the applicant to complete and pass an 8-hour basic pistol training class, which includes live firing and shooting positions; as well as meeting basic requirements listed on PAGE 2 of the State of Michigan Concealed Pistol License Application.
After completion of training and successfully passing the testing, you will receive a certificate from CCW PROTEX. This certificate will need to be included with your Concealed Pistol License Application and sent to the State of Michigan.

Can I train with my own group of friends?
OF COURSE! We encourage gun training with a group of friends! You can arrange a PISTOL PARTY of 6 or more and get your own training free of charge. We also come to your location and have a second gun training location in Gaylord, Michigan (our first location is Troy, Michigan).
 
What do I need to bring for my CCW PROTEX Gun Class? What is provided by CCW PROTEX?
You must bring to class:
- a valid driver's license
- paper and pen for notetaking
- your own pistol* (small caliber is best)
- 50 rounds of matching ammunition
- Eye and Ear Protection is required
- Casual/Comfortable dress please

CCW PROTEX WILL PROVIDE:
- a coffee/doughnut breakfast and pizza lunch
- All Gun Training and Handgun Reference Material
- Written Test Materials
- Certification Paper (upon successful passing grade received)

I had a Handgun CCW Permit, but it has expired. What do I need to do?
If your original gun permit was prior to 2001, you will need to re-take the gun training. You will need to check with your local county's courthouse offices. A renewal may require you to include scanner-finger printing with your application.

I don't own a gun. Can I still participate in gun training? 
Yes, you can still participate in our gun training! A fee of $30 will rent you our pistol and ammunition for the course.*
